WALSH, J(ames) M(organ)
(1897-1952)
Australian-born writer who moved to the UK; he wrote primarily mystery stories, some as by Stephen Maddock. His Vandals of the Void (1931), its sequel, "The Struggle for Pallas" (1931 Wonder StoriesQuarterly), and Vanguard to Neptune (1932 Wonder Stories Quarterly; 1952) are fairly routine early SPACE OPERAS, the first of which sees an attack by MERCURY on Venus, Mars and Earth.
