VANGUARD SCIENCE FICTION

VANGUARD SCIENCE FICTION
US DIGEST-size magazine. 1 issue June 1958, published by Vanguard Science Fiction; ed James BLISH. VSF made a promising debut: it included the much-anthologized "Reap the Dark Tide" (vt "Shark Ship") by C.M. KORNBLUTH and what were intended as regular features by L. Sprague DE CAMP and Lester DEL REY. However, the decision to fold the magazine was made before\#1 even appeared.
