STOUT, Rex (Todhunter)

STOUT, Rex (Todhunter)
(1886-1975)
US writer, best known for his Nero Wolfe detective novels, beginning with Fer-de-Lance (1934) and continuing into the 1970s. Under the Andes (1914 All-Story Magazine; 1984) describes, in a style very unlike his deft mature drawl, an underground LOST WORLD of dwarf Incans. In The President Vanishes (1934), published anon, the disappearance of theUS President causes a NEAR FUTURE crisis.
