- (1876-?)South African author, a periodic UK resident, whose The Maniac's Dream: A Novel of the Atomic Bomb (1946) was one of the first post-Hiroshima future- WAR novels to respond to the threat of nuclear HOLOCAUST, though in this case without much grounding in scientificrealities.
