OLSA, Jaroslav Jr

   Student of Arabic and Oriental studies and international relations; also sf editor, translator and bibliographer. JO was for a time assistant editor of the first Czechoslovak sf monthly magazine, Ikarie (published since 1990), but his major role in sf studies has been asco-editor of the Czechoslovak Encyklopedie science fiction ("Encyclopedia of Science Fiction") (1992). He has contributed to LOCUS, FOUNDATION and other sf magazines, has compiled bibliographies of Czechoslovak FANZINES, and wrote the entry on CZECH AND SLOVAK SF for this encyclopedia.
