(1947-)
   US-born writer, long resident in France, whose novels are fantasy and horror with the exception of his first, Symbiote's Crown (1978), a slyly intelligent though uneasily metaphysical SPACE OPERA. Other works: Nightchild (1979; rev 1983); Dhampire (1982); the Firedance sequence comprising Firedance (1986) and Drink the Fire from the Flames (1987); Webs (1989).
