STACY, Jan

(1948-1989)

   US writer of military sf novels, including the first 4 vols of the Doomsday Warrior, some in collaboration with Ryder SYVERTSEN under the joint pseudonym Ryder Stacy; Syvertsen continued the series solo after JS's death (see his entry for titles). Their only non-series collaborationappeared under their real names: The Great Book of Movie Monsters (1983). Writing as Jan Sievert, they began, with C.A.D.S. (1985), the C.A.D.S.sequence, carried on separately by Syvertsen and David ALEXANDER. As Craig Sargent JS wrote the Last Ranger sequence of military-sf novels set in apost- HOLOCAUST venue: The Last Ranger (1986), \#2: The Savage Stronghold (1986), \#3: The Madman's Mansion (1986), \#4: The Rabid Brigadier (1987),\#5: The War Weapons (1987), \#6: The Warlord's Revenge (1988), \#7: The Vile Village (1988), \#8: The Cutthroat Cannibals (1988), \#9: The Damned Disciples (1988) and \#10: Is This the End? (1989).
