O'REILLY, John Boyle
(1844-1890)
   Irish-born US writer. A Fenian transported to Australia, he escaped to the USA and became a journalist, poet and novelist. His sf novel about a republican England, The King's Men: A Tale of Tomorrow (1884) with Robert GRANT, F.J. Stimson and John T. Wheelwright, featuresan attempted monarchist coup which is roundly defeated.
