   US writer who published numerous sf stories and popular science articles in the PULP MAGAZINES from 1929 to at least 1948, beginning with "The Undersea Tube" for AMZ in 1928; this details the failure of a subwayunder the Atlantic. She probably attended the University of California Los Angeles for graduate work in science. Her stories, which revolve aroundhard-science explanations or technological problems, tend to include many diagrams. The Ancient Atlantic (1969), nonfiction, deals with the geological and mythic history of the Atlantic Ocean.
