CHASE, Robert R(eynolds)

   US writer initially associated with ASF for stories like his first, "Seven Scenes from the Ultimate Monster Movie" in 1984. He began to publish novels with the Game sequence of sf adventures set in a feudalized interplanetary venue: The Game of Fox and Lion (1986) and Crucible (1991). Intrigues, GENETIC ENGINEERING, and a dash of RELIGION generate a moderately engaging narrative. Shapers (1989), about an amnesia victim who awakens in a strange world, also invokes sf tradition.
