FANAC
   US FANZINE, ed from Berkeley by Terry CARR and Ron ELLIK (1958-61) and subsequently (1961-3) by Walter Breen. Fanac was a small but frequent publication carrying information on sf writers and events and news of sf fans and their activities. Its informal and humorous style was popular and became a model for later fanzines. Contributors included well known fans and professional writers. Fanac won the HUGO for Best Fanzine in 1959.
